The SLEDS Vintage Snowmobile Racing Association is dedicated
to providing the best vintage snowmobile racing in the world
for fans and racers.
What started as a group of guys getting together and racing
some old sleds that they had, has quickly grown to be the biggest
vintage snowmobile racing circuit in the country. In northern
Minnesota a town known as Strathcona (near Thief River Falls), there
is a historic race track that has been the home of all kinds
of great snowmobile racers, from Arctic Cat legend Larry Coltom
to superstars Terry & Dustin Wahl. It was on this track
that a group of guys brought out some old sleds and let them
rip.
When word got out, everyone with an old sled within several
hundred miles started showing up to race whatever they had.
Before they knew it, SLEDS had grown to such proportion that
towns and associations from around the upper Midwest started
calling them to have the SLEDS racers show up in there city
once a year.
Headed up by Armand Westlund and his family, SLEDS eats and
breathes the vintage racing lifestyle.
