SLED REQIREMENTS (ALL)
1. A working teather fastened to operator at start up and when engine is above idle. 9. Clutch and chain case covers required
2; Padded ski loops and ski tips required. 10. Brakes must be in good working order.
3. Studs 3/8 inch above the highest point of track. 11. Biodegradable slide lube.
4. 6" numbers minimum on both sides of sled. 12. Tailight recomended day races, mandatory for night races
. 5. Secured snow flap 1 inch off ice with driver on sled.
6. All sleds are subject to inspection by Tech Director Tech man may remove any sled for geneal safety and class compliance at anytime.
7. As a rule Super Stock rules tell you what you can do, Mod rules tell you what you can't do.
8. (OEM) = Orig. Equip.Mfr. parts offered on sleds and available from brand name dealers. Stock (OEM)= OEM part for model, no modifications.
SUPER STOCK RULES - 85 And older standard leaf spring production models, except Hot stockers, ( 76-77) SRX, SNOW TWISTERS, Z, BLIZZARD, SUPER SONIC has to jump a class
ENGINE - 85 and older naturally asperated engine of the size and type that was available in chassis model. no external modifications except twin carbs may be added,any internal modifications
allowed ecept stroke. May bore .060" over stock bore. No nitrous, Oil injetion may be disabled. Newer engines unchanged in design allowed.
CHASSIS - Stock OEM no modifications except drive shaft, chain case may be moved up to 2", reinforcing allowed. engine mt. @ exh. original location. Up to 3' ski spreaders.
IGNITION - Stock OEM or OEM replacment for engine, non-programable.
EXHAUST - Stock OEM for model.
CARBURATOR - Any production carburator exdept flat slides. Air box may be removed. no fuel injection.
CLUTCHES - Any OEM , no roller secondary.
CHAIN CASE - OEM for model.
REAR SUSPENSION - Any 85 and older production sled.
TRACK - An track in good condition.
DRIVESHAFT, JACKSHAFT, DRIVERS,BRAKE, SEAT, STEERING, FUEL TANK, SKI'S. - Any
400 PRO STOCK SINGLE
INGINE - 1980 and older single fan cooled snowmobile engine. may bore .060" over class size. Any internal modifications allowed except stroke.
CHASSIS - 80 and older stock OEM production trail sleds. Chaincase may be moved up to 2". Any engine and chassis allowed. No add jackshaft unless it wass OEM part on chassis.
EXHAUST - 1980 and older OEM exhaust with can muffler.
CARBURETOR - Any production snowmobile carburetor.
CLUTCHES - Any (no roller secondary)
CHAINCASE - OEM for model.
REAR SUSPENSION - 1980 and older OEM.
TRACK - Any track in good condition (no R tracks),
HOOD - Should be correct for model.
STEERING, SEAT, FUEL, TANK, BRAKE, SKI'S AND SPRINGS, DRIVERS, DRIVESHAFT, JACKSHAFT, Any
SUPER MOD RULES - 85 and older standard production or reproduction leaf spring models and 72 & 73 IFS Chaparrals. must retain OEM front Susp. geometry. and oil shocks.
Anything allowed except below.
ENGINE - 85 and older naturally aspirated snowmobile engines. Engine brand must match chassis brand. No nitrous. Newer engines unchanged in design since 1985 allowed.
Maximum CC limits for respective engines - 250 =264, 300= 317, 340=358, 440=464, 500=527.
CHASSIS - May widen to 40" carbide center to center. of up to 3" ski spreaders allowed to achieve 40" rule.
TRACK - Any track in good condition.
HOOD - Correct for brand
FORMULA 340 RULES - 92 AND OLDER STANDARD PRODUCION PLARIS INDY MODELS.
ENGINE - 83 and older 340 Fugi ( Plaris L\C ) mono-block engine only. Any internal modification except stroke allowed. may bore uo to .060" over stock bore. May add,remove
exchangers or add radiator.
CHASSIS - Engine and mount, jackshaft, chain case, and exhaust must remain in original locations. No indy light chassis.
IGNITION, EXHAUST- Stock OEM for engine.
CARBURETOR - OEM 38mm round slide.
CLUTCHES - Any OEM, no roller secondary
FRONT SUSPENSION - 42" Maximum carbide center to center. Maximum offset 1' Maximum offset (22" right 20" left of bulkhead center, Springs, shocks, sway bar, and link,
radius rods, and trailing arms may be changed or modified but must fasten in stock location on bulkhead/tunnel. 2.5 minimum travel at front end.
REAR SUSPENSION - 92 and older Stock Polaris components only, except springs, shocks, and limiters. Components may be moved, removed, or relocated.
TRACK - 15" buy 121" stock OEM or OEM replacement rubber track. No ( R ) track.
DRIVESHAFT, JACKSHAFT, CHAINCASE OEM for the model.
BRAKES, SKIS, HOOD,BELLYPAN, STEERING, SEAT, GAS TANK -any
SNOPRO-X RULES- 83 AND OLDER SINGLE TRACK SLEDS, (INCLUDING FORMULA 340 SLEDS) ANY THING ALLOWED EXCEPT BELOW
ENGINE - Any 83 and older naturally aspirated snowmobile engine. For availability and affordability, the following neoer engines are alllowed, 92-98 432cc piston port cast
iorn bore Fugi, and 85 - 90 435 mono-block Suzuki engines. No varible exhaust valves, No nitrous or fues injection. External modificationslimited to addition of
reed valves on piston - port engines. Engine need not match chassis brand. The following are maximum CC limits for the respective engines: 250-264, 340-358440-464.
CHASSIS - 83 and older production, factory or cloned limited=build race,and 86 and older indy chassis - including any 83 and older style bulkhead. No CHAMP/SPRINT
chassis or A-arm front ends. Maximum width 42". 83 and older race style hood encouraged.
TRACK - Any track in good condition.
SPORTSMAN 600 RULES - 96 AND OLDER STANDARD PRODUCTION MODELS, (including Formula 340s) No (Limited-Production) high performancd sleds.
ENGINE- Engine brand must match chassis brand. For availability Polaris may use later 600cc piston port triple mono-block engine. For competitive reasons Arctic
Cat may use later 580cc engine. No external modifications. May bore .040" over stock bore.
CHASSIS - No modificatios (except) Yamaha cross members may be modified to meet the 40" rule,Polaris and Cats may be modified to accept later-allowed
exhaust and engine. Windshield and headlight, may be altered or removed, reinforcing allowed, dash and unneccessry brackets may be removed.
Stock OEM hood and belly pan.
IGNITION - Stock OEM for the engine.
EXHAUST - Any pipe
CARBURETOR - OEM for engine, original size. Airbox may be removed.
CLUTCHES - Any OEM primary. OEM for the brand secondary. No roller secondary.
CHAINCASE - OEM for the model.
FRONT SUSPENSION - 40" maximum width between carbide centers.Srings, shocks, sway bars and link, radius rods and tie rods may be changed but must be
fasten to stock location on bulkhead / tunnel. OEM for the model trailing arms, which may be modified to accept shocks,sway bar link and rear perch. 2.5" min. travel.
REAR SUSPENSION - OEM for the model components only, (except) any springs shocks, and limiters. Compoonents may be moved, removed, relocated & modified.
TRACK - OEM or OEM replacement (width and length) rubber track in good condition. No racing (R) tracks.
DRIVESHAFT, JACKSHAFT - Steel OEM for the model.
SKIS, STEERING, SEAT, FUEL TANK - Any.
PRO STOCK 440 RULES - Any 07 and older production single pipe IFS sleds (Indy, XCR, ProX, SnoPro, MXZ, MXZX, etc.)
ENGINE - OEM for the model, 440cc maximum. May bore .040" over stock bore. No external modifications.
CHASSIS - No modifications except, windshield may be altered or removed, headlight may be removed, reinforcing allowed. Engine and mount, jackshaft, chaincase
and exhaust must remain in original locations. Rear tunnel enclosure required (sides and back) - no higher than 2" from rear axle ( with rider ). No more than 3" from
back of track and forward to to rear arm of skidframe.
IGNITION, PIPE, JACKSHAFT, DRIVESHAFT, HOOD, BELLY PAN,FUEL TANK - Stock OEM for model.
SEAT - OEM for model. May cut to minimum of 5" in height from top of tunnel. OEM length and top contour. may add side padding.
SILENCER - OEM or commerciallu available for the model. No modifications.
CABURATORS - OEM for the engine. Original size.
SKIDS, HANDLE BARS, CLUTCHES - Any.
TRACK - Any track in good condition.
REAR SUSPENSION - Any year OEM production. OEM production componants only, except any springs/ shock, limiters,. Componants may be moved. Componets
removed, relocated, or modified.
FRONT SUSPENSION - Stock OEM components only for model and year, exept the following, Any springs/shocks, upper mounts/brackets may be changed/modified
but upper shock bolt must remain within 1" of stock location. Trailing and A arms may be modified to accept bottom shock bolt and sway bar link only. Sway bar and
link may be changed and/or removed. Stock width - no offset.
LATE MODEL RULES - CHAMP, SPRINT, DAVCO, SNOPRO,TWIN TRACK AND PROCUCTION SLEDS. Anything allowed except below.
CHASSIS - 45" Maximum width.
ENGINE - 440cc L/C & 500 cc FC naturally asperated snowmobile engine. No nitrous. The folwing are maximum CC limits 440-464, 500-527
NOTE -- Some of our rules differ from ISR Vintage rules. If you plan on racing at EAGLE RIVER or tracks, do consult there rules.

RULES FOR ALL CLASSES & SAFETY
- Pre-race safety inspections are mandatory at all races unless deemed otherwise, by Race Director.
Pre-race inspections do not certify that the machine is
qualified or constituted as legal for class participation.
- All aspects of modification are contingent on safety
inspection by the Technical Director. The Technical Director
may remove any sled from competition that does not meet
safety requirements.
- Must have working tether, must be attached to driver any time track is turning, also retained mud flap no more
than one inch from the ground on rider-less machine.
- Tailight recomended, Must have working taillight with 1157 bulb or equivalent
that works with engine running for nite racing.
- Jack stands with side enclosures are mandatory when sleds
are clearing out engine or track.
- Carbides of any length and studs up to 3/8 inch above
highest point of lug or cleat are allowed.
- All ski loops and leading edge of ski tips must be padded. May use any handlebars, hooks, brake, ski spreaders
up to 3 inches per side, spring guides and biodegradable
lubbers.
- Full-face helmet, flack jacket, knee protection, orange bib and or orange helmet is highly recomended for your own safety.
- Must have 6" numbers of contrasting color on sides of hood. Points are awarded to Sled # but have bib as backup.
- Brakes must be in good working condition.
- Clutch guard and chain case cover mandatory
- Secured snow flap within 1" of the ice on rider-less machine..
TEAR DOWN
- Tech Director may select machines for mandatory
tear down and inspections. Driver will be notified by the completion of races
to report to tear down. Anyone refusing tear down will be disqualified. Driver
or mechanic will perform tear down to the point required by the Tech Director.
- The sanctioning
organization assumes no responsibility for impounded sleds.If you wish to protest a machine, you must
pay a $50 fee to the Tech Director.
RULES FOR SUPER STOCK CLASSES-Any 85 or older standard production leaf spring (model) Which means the engine cc had to have been availible in that model . Engine, engine mount and exhaust must remain in original locations. May include newer engines unchanged in design since 1985. 76 & 77 limited build factory performance models such as SRX, SNO-TWISTER, Z, BLIZZARD, may run in (SUPER STOCK, but will have to jump up one CLASS - THIS NEW CHANGE WILL BE REVIEWED AFTER EACH RACE To SEE IF IT WORKS OUT AS PLANNED) or Mod classes.
- ENGINE- Any internal modifications allowed. Engine must have been availible in the chassis model. Must retain original cooling concept. May bore your cylinders .060 over stock bore. Must rtain original intake design (i.e. cylinder reed must remain cylinder reed). Must be naturally aspirated No Nitrous. Oil injection may be removed. Twin carbs may be added.
- CHASSIS-Stock OEM.no modifications exept drive shaft, chain case may be moved up to 2" for stud clearance and reinforcing allowed. Up to 3" ski spreaders allowed.
- IGNITION AND EXHAUST- Stock OEM for the model.
- CARBURETOR - Any production snowmobile carburetor. Air box may be removed. No flat slide carbs, no fuel injection.
- CLUTCHING - Any OEM primary, Any OEM secondary. No roller secondary.
- CHAINCASE & BRAKE - OEM chaincase for the model, Any brake.
- REAR SUSPENSION - Any 85 or older OEM suspension.
8. TRACK Any track in good condition.
9. HOODS - Hood must be correct for model. Winshield may be altered or removed. Headlight may be removed
10.Stearing-seat-gas tank-brake-skis & springs-drivers drive shaft jackshaft, any but cannot ad jackshaft.
RULES FOR SUPER MOD CLASSES - Any 85 and older production leaf spring model as well as 72 &73 IFS Chaparral which must retain OEM front suspension geometry and must use oil shocks..
- ENGINE - Must originate from 85 of older Any internal modifications allowed, Engine brand must match chassis brand. May bore .060 over class size. Must be naturally aspirated.including fuel injection from that era, No nitrous -May include newer engines unchanged in design. CHASSIS- May be widened up to 40" max carbide center distance unless factory production center distance is wider. Can use ski spreaders up to 3 inches per side to achieve 40" rule. Spindles must be enclosed. No cobra skis.
- TRACK Any track in good condition.
- HOODS - Hood must be correct for brand. Windshield and headlight may be removed or altered.
SNOPRO-X RULES - Any 83 or older single track production sled or factory SnoPro sled. Reproductions allowed. No CHAMP chassis allowed, even with 83 of older hoods. Leafers converted to IFS included.
- ENGINE - Any 83 or older engine. The following newer engines are allowed,-type 354 and 454 Rotax,91-90 432cc piston port cast iorn bore Fuji, and 85-90 mono block Suzuki engines. Any internal modifications allowed. No variable exhaust valves. Engine brand need not match chassis brand. May bore .060 over class size. Must be naturally aspirated. No nitrous. Any carburetor. No fuel injection. Windshield may be altered or removed. Maximum width 45".
- ALL OTHER SUPER MOD RULES APPLY.
FORMULA-340 RULES- 92 and older standard production Polaris Indy model. Engine & mount, jacskshaft, chaincase, and exhaust must remain in original locations.
1. ENGINE- 340 cc FUJI (Polaris L/C) engine only. May bore .040 over stock bore. Any clutches, no roller secondary.
2. INGITION, EXHAUST, CHAIN CASE, CARBRETOR - Stock OEM and size for model, air box may be removed.
3. CHASSIS Engine & Mount, Jackshft, Chain case, Exhaust, must remain in original locations. No Indy Lite chassis.
4. FRONT SUSPENSION - 42" Maximum width between carbides. Maximum 1" offset (each ski to the right, 1") Springs, shocks, sway bar & Link, radius rods, trailing arms may be changed or modified but must fasten to stock locations. 2.5" minimum travel at front of bulkhead. Reinfofcing allowed.
5. REAR SUSPENSION - Stock rear suspension components only, Except shocks,springs & limiters. Components may be moved or removed, relocated
6. CHAIN CASE,DRIVESHAFT,JACKSHAFT - OEM for model
7. TRACK- 15" x 121" OEM or OEM replacement, no racing (R) rubber track
8. BRAKE,DRIVERS,HOOD,STEERING,SKIS,SEAT & FUEL TANK - Any
LATE MODEL440 RULES-- CHAMP, SPRINT, DAVCO, SNOPRO, TWIN TRACK, PRODUCTION SLEDS. anything goes except 45" max. width and 440 L/C or 500 Fan.
PRO STOCK 440 RULES.-Any 07 or older production single pipe IFS sleds. (Indy, XCR, ProX, ZR, ZL, SnoPro, MXZ, MXZX, ect.)
1. ENGINE Stock for model, 440 cc max. No external Modifications
2. CHASSIS No modifications except, windshield may be altered or removed, Headlight may be removed, Reinforcing allowed. Engine ,jackshaft, chaincase and exhaust must remain in original location.
3. IGNITION, PIPE, CHAINCASE, JACKSHAFT, DRIVESHAFT, HOOD, BELLYPAN, SEAT, FUEL TANK - Stock for model.
4. SILENCER OEM or commercially available for model. No modifications.
5. CARBURATORS Stock OEM for model
6. SKIS, HANDLEBARS, CLUTCHES, Any.
7. TRACK Any rubber track, Stick length and width for model.
8. REAR SUSPENSION Any OEM Production Suspension. Stock OEM components only, except springs shocks, limiters. Components may be moved, removed, relocated, or modified.
9. FRONT SUSPENSION Stock OEM components for model., except springs,shocks swaybar and link may be changed but must fasten to stock loacations in bulkhead. Trailing and A-arms may be modified to accept shocks and swaybar link. Stock width- no offset.
RULES FOR SPORTSMAN 500 - Late model -1992 and older (IFS of Leafer)
1. ENGINE Must match chasis brand. May bore .040 over stock bore.
2. CHASIS No modivications except Yanaha cross-members may be modified to meet the 40" rule.Polaris and Cat may be modified to accept later allowed exhaust and engine. windshield and headlight may be altered or removed, reinforcing allowed, dash and unnecessary brackets may be removed. Stock OEM hood an belly pan. No indy light chassis allowed.
