RULES FOR ALL CLASSES & SAFETY
- Pre-race safety inspections are mandatory at all races unless deemed otherwise, by Race Director.
Pre-race inspections do not certify that the machine is
qualified or constituted as legal for class participation.
- All aspects of modification are contingent on safety
inspection by the Technical Director. The Technical Director
may remove any sled from competition that does not meet
safety requirements.
- Must have working tether, must be attached to driver any time engine is running, also retained mud flap no more
than one inch from the ground on rider-less machine.
- Tailight recomended, Must have working taillight with 1157 bulb or equivalent
that works with engine running for nite racing.
- Jack stands with side enclosures are mandatory when sleds
are clearing out engine or track.
- Carbides of any length and studs up to 3/8 inch above
highest point of lug or cleat are allowed.
- All ski loops and leading edge of ski tips must be padded. May use any handlebars, hooks, brake, ski spreaders
up to 3 inches per side, spring guides and biodegradable
lubbers.
- Full-face helmet, flack jacket, knee protection, orange bib and or orange helmet is highly recomended for your own safety.
- Must have 6" numbers of contrasting color on sides of hood. Points are awarded to Sled # but have bib as backup.
- Brakes must be in good working condition.
- Clutch guard and chain case cover mandatory
- Secured snow flap within 1" of the ice on rider-less machine..
TEAR DOWN
- Tech Director may select machines for mandatory
tear down and inspections. Driver will be notified by the completion of races
to report to tear down. Anyone refusing tear down will be disqualified. Driver
or mechanic will perform tear down to the point required by the Tech Director.
- Machines will not be re-assembled by the inspection
group. Drivers and mechanics only to be allowed in inspection area. The sanctioning
organization assumes no responsibility for impounded sleds.
- If you wish to protest a machine, you must
pay a $50 fee to the Tech Director. If the machine in question is found to
be legal, the owner of the machine will receive the $50 protest fee. If the
machine in question is found to be illegal, the protestor will be refunded
the $50 fee and the driver of the illegal machine will be penalized at the
sasnctioning body's discretion.
SEALS
- Driver will allow the installation of seals on engine
or chassis. To change the seal, mutilate, break or try
to reuse it during the event where installed without the
consent of Race Director, could result in disciplinary
action. Accidental breakage of seal must be reported to
Race Director ASAP.
RULES FOR SUPER STOCK CLASSES-Any 85 or older standard production leaf spring model. Engine, engine mount and exhaust must remain in original locations. May include newer engines unchanged in design since 1985. 76 & 77 limited build factory performance models such as SRX, SNO-TWISTER Z, BLIZZARD, mayl run in (SUPER STOCK, but will have to jump up one CLASS - THIS NEW CHANGE WILL BE REVIEWED AFTER EACH RACE TO SEE IF IT WORKS OUT AS PLANNED) or Mod classes.
- ENGINE- Any internal modifications allowed. Engine must have been availible in the chassis model. Must retain original cooling concept. May bore .060 over class size. Must rtain original intake design (i.e. cylinder reed must remain cylinder reed). Must be naturally aspirated No Nitrous. Oil injection may be removed. TWIN CARBS MAY BE ADDED.
- IGNITION AND EXHAUST- Stock OEM for the model.
- CARBURETOR - Any production snowmobile carburetor. Air box may be removed. No flat slide carbs, no fuel injection.
- CHASSIS - Stock OEM, no modifications EXCEPT DRIVE SHAFT,CHAIN CASE MAY BE MOVED UP TO 2" FOR TRACK PICK CLEARANCE AND REINFORCING ALLOWED, UP TO 3'' SPREADERS ALLOWED. .
- CLUTCHING - Any OEM primary, Any OEM secondary. No roller secondary.
- CHAINCASE & BRAKE - OEM chaincase for the model, Any brake.
- REAR SUSPENSION - Any 85 or older OEM suspension.
8. JACKSHAFT - ANY. Cannot add jackshaft.
9. HOODS - Hood must be correct for model. Winshield may be altered or removed. Headlight may be removed
10. STEARING-SEAT-GAS TANK-BRAKE-SKIS & SPRINGS-TRACK-DRIVERS-DRIVE SHAFT-JACKSHAFT-ANY but cannnot add jackshaft
RULES FOR SUPER MOD CLASSES - Any 85 and older production leaf spring model as well as 72 &73 IFS Chaparral which must retain OEM front suspension geometry and must use oil shocks..
- ENGINE - Must originate from 85 of older Any internal modifications allowed, Engine brand must match chassis brand. May bore .060 over class size. Must be naturally aspirated NO NITROUS- MAY INCLUDE NEWER ENGINES UNCHANGED IN DESIGN,.
- CHASSIS- May be widened up to 40" max carbide center distance unless factory production center distance is wider. Can use ski spreaders up to 3 inches per side to achieve 40" rule. Spindles must be enclosed. No cobra skis.
- ANY chain case, chain case relocating, drive shaft, drivers, jackshaft, clutches, skis, track in good condition, steering, handlebars, seat, fuel tank, exhaust, ignition, including fuel injection from that era, or rear suspension allowed.
- HOODS - Hood must be correct for brand. Windshield and headlight may be removed or altered.
SNOPRO-X RULES - Any 83 or older single track production sled or factory SnoPro sled. Reproductions allowed. No CHAMP chassis allowed, even with 83 of older hoods. LEAFER CONVERTED TO IFS INCLUDED.
- ENGINE - Any 83 or older engine. THE FOLLOWING NEWER ENGINES ARE ALLOWED-TYPE 354 AND 454 ROTAX, 91-98 432CC PISTON PORT CAST IORN BORE FUJI, AND 85-90 435CC MONO BLOCK SUZUKI ENGINES, Any internal modifications allowed. No variable exhaust valves. Engine brand need not match chassis brand. May bore .060 over class size. Must be naturally aspirated. No nitrous. Any carburetor. No fuel injection. Windshield may be altered or removed. Maximum width 45".
- ALL OTHER SUPER MOD RULES APPLY.
FORMULA-340 RULES- 92 and older standard production Polaris Indy model. Engine & mount, jacskshaft, chaincase, and exhaust must remain in original locations.
1. ENGINE - 340 cc Fuji (Polaris L/C) engine only. Any internal modifications allowed.
2. INGITION, EXHAUST, CARBRETOR - Stock OEM and size for model, air box may be removed.
3. CHASSIS - ENGINE & MOUNT,JACKSHAFT,CHAIN CASE, EXHAUST, REMAIN IN ORIGINAL LOCATIONS. No Indy Lite chassis. No chassis lightening.
4. FRONT SUSPENSION - 42" Maximum width between carbides. Maximum 1" offset (each ski to the right, 1") Springs, shocks, sway bar radius rods, trailing arms and camber may be changed but must fasten to stock locations. 2.5" minimum travel at front of bulkhead. Reinfofcing allowed.
5. REAR SUSPENSION - Stock rear suspension components only. EXCEPT SHOCKS,SPRINGS,& LIMITERS Components may be moved or removed and may be relocated in tunnel.
6. CLUTCHING- Any OEM primary, Any OEM no roller secondary.
7. CHAIN CASE,DRIVESHAFT,JACKSHAFT - OEM for model
8. BRAKE,DRIVERS,HOOD,STEERING,SKIS,SEAT & FUEL TANK - Any
9. TRACK - 15" x 121"OEM OR OEM REPLACEMENT NO RACING (R) rubber track.
RULES FOR LATE RULES FOR LATE MODEL CHAMP CLASS-2000 AND OLDER 'CHAMP' OR PRODUCTION SLEDS.
1. CHASIS - 45" MAX. WIDTH.
2. ENGINE-2000 AND OLDER 700CC MAX. MAY BORE .040" OVER CLASS SIZE. MUST BE NATURALLY ASPIRATED, NO NITROUS.
RULES FOR LATE MODEL VINTAGE SPORTSMANS CLASSES-1992 AND OLDER (IFS OR LEAFER)
1. PURE STOCK EXCEPT FOR STUDS AND CARBIDES
2. WILL EXPERIMENT WITH SUPER STOCK LEAFERS IN THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!
